The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reiterated the February 14, 2026 deadline for all affiliated schools to upload practical, project and internal assessment marks for Classes 10 and 12. Nearly 30 % of schools have not completed this process, and facilities for mark correction will close after the deadline to enable smooth board exam result processing.

CBSE Sets Final Deadline to Upload Class 10 & 12 Practical/Internal Marks by Feb 14

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a final reminder to all its affiliated schools to complete the uploading of practical examination, project work and internal assessment marks for Classes 10 and 12 by 14 February 2026. This directive comes as part of the ongoing conduct of CBSE board activities ahead of the main theory exams scheduled later this academic session.

Deadline and What Schools Must Upload

CBSE’s circular refers back to its earlier notification which set the schedule for practical examinations, project work and internal assessments to take place from 1 January 2026 to 14 February 2026. Schools are now required to finalise and upload all marks within this timeframe.

Under the directive:

  • Class 12 practical examination marks must be uploaded.
  • Class 12 project work and internal assessment marks must be completed.
  • Internal assessment marks for Class 10 must also be uploaded

CBSE has noted that around 30 per cent of schools are yet to complete these uploads and may still be deleting or correcting batch data. The board clarified that the facility for deleting or correcting uploaded data will not be available after the deadline of 14 February 2026, as an Integrated Payment System (IPS) for practical examinations will be launched shortly after.

Reason for the Strict Deadline

Schools must ensure that internal and practical marks are uploaded in time because these contribute directly to final board exam results. Marks not uploaded by the deadline could disrupt results compilation and delay the entire result preparation process. CBSE has warned schools that late submissions and data errors could complicate evaluation and grade finalisation. Beyond the mark uploads, the practical exam window itself — from January 1 to February 14, 2026 — has been emphasised repeatedly by the board in official notices, highlighting that practical assessments across subjects are integral to overall board performance evaluation

Schools’ Compliance and Next Steps

CBSE has urged principals and heads of schools to treat the uploading of marks as urgent priority and to complete all data entry before the final deadline. Once the Integrated Payment System goes live after 14 February, schools will no longer be able to correct or delete practical marks data, making timely and accurate submission crucial. Ahead of theory exams later this year, CBSE’s deadline reminder aims to avoid any last‑minute complications in result compilation while ensuring that practical and internal assessment components are correctly recorded and processed.
