CBSE has introduced a special marking formula for students in West Asia affected by exam cancellations. The new evaluation method ensures fair results despite disruptions
CBSE Result 2026 will include a special marking formula for students in the West Asia region. The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced this measure after exams were disrupted in certain international centres due to external conditions.
CBSE 2026 Special Marking Formula Latest Update
The board has confirmed that exams in several West Asia centres were cancelled due to ongoing regional issues. To ensure students are not disadvantaged, CBSE has implemented an alternative assessment method.
- Affected region: West Asia centres
- Reason: Exam cancellation due to external circumstances
- Classes covered: Class 10 confirmed, Class 12 under review
The move aims to maintain fairness and continuity in evaluation.
How CBSE Will Evaluate Class 10 Students?
CBSE has already finalised the assessment method for Class 10 students based on the number of exams attempted.
- Students who appeared in all exams → Marks based on actual performance
- Students who appeared in fewer exams → Average-based evaluation
- Missing papers → Marks calculated using best-performing subjects
For example:
- If a student appeared in 4 subjects, remaining subjects will be evaluated using the average of best 3 subjects
- If only 3 exams were taken, evaluation will be based on best 2 subjects average
This structured approach ensures that no student is unfairly penalised.
CBSE Class 12 Assessment Plan 2026
While the Class 10 marking scheme has been finalised, the assessment formula for Class 12 students is still under review.
- More complex due to multiple subjects and streams
- Decision expected soon by CBSE
- Will follow a similar fairness-based approach
Officials have indicated that careful data analysis is being conducted before finalising the plan.
CBSE Result 2026 Timeline
Despite disruptions in some regions, CBSE has assured that results will be declared on time.
- Result mode: Online
- Evaluation process: Ongoing
- Delay status: No major delay expected
The board is working to ensure uniform result declaration across all regions.
Why Special Marking Formula Was Introduced?
The decision was taken to address challenges faced by students who could not appear for exams due to unforeseen geopolitical situations.
- Exams cancelled in select international centres
- Students unable to complete all papers
- Need for fair and uniform assessment
The special formula ensures that affected students are evaluated without disadvantage.
Important Advice for Students
Students in affected regions should stay updated with official CBSE announcements and keep track of result notifications.
- Check official website regularly
- Keep login credentials ready
- Follow updates for Class 12 assessment
The CBSE Result 2026 special marking formula reflects the board’s effort to ensure fairness and transparency in exceptional circumstances.
