CBSE Class 11 Physics Deleted Syllabus 2025–26: Chapter-Wise List

CBSE has revised the Class 11 Physics syllabus for the academic year 2025–26. Several chapters, subtopics, and exercises have been removed as per the updated NCERT textbooks. Students should focus only on the retained syllabus to prepare effectively for exams.

CBSE Class 11 Physics Deleted Syllabus 2025–26: Chapter-Wise List

CBSE Class 11 Physics Deleted Syllabus 2025–26 has been released as part of the revised NCERT curriculum for the current academic session. The Central Board of Secondary Education has removed multiple chapters, subtopics, and exercises to reduce academic load. Students preparing for the 2025–26 examinations must follow the updated syllabus strictly.

 

Awareness of the deleted syllabus helps students avoid unnecessary preparation. It allows better time management, reduced stress, and focused exam-oriented study.

 

CBSE Class 11 Physics Deleted Chapters and Topics 2025–26

CBSE has either fully removed or partially reduced content from several chapters. Some topics have been deleted completely, while others have been modified or restricted to qualitative understanding. The chapter-wise deleted syllabus is provided below for clear reference.

 

Chapter 1: Physical World

  • Entire chapter removed

Chapter 2: Units and Measurements

  • Measurement of length, mass, and time
  • Accuracy and precision of measuring instruments
  • Errors in measurement

Chapter 3: Motion in a Straight Line

  • Position-time graph
  • Speed and velocity
  • Average speed

Chapter 4: Motion in a Plane

  • Relative velocity
  • Projectile acceleration

Chapter 6: Work, Energy and Power

  • Conservation of mechanical energy

Chapter 7: System of Particles and Rotational Motion

  • Parallel and perpendicular axes theorems and applications

Chapter 8: Gravitation

  • Geostationary satellites
  • Escape velocity replaced with escape speed

Chapter 9: Mechanical Properties of Solids

  • Elastic behaviour renamed as elasticity
  • Shear modulus restricted to qualitative understanding

Chapter 10: Mechanical Properties of Fluids

  • Bernoulli’s theorem limited to simple applications

Chapter 11: Thermal Properties of Matter

  • Greenhouse effect

Chapter 12: Thermodynamics

  • Isothermal and adiabatic processes
  • Reversible and irreversible processes
  • Heat engine and refrigerator
  • Gaseous state processes

Chapter 14: Oscillations

  • Free, forced, and damped oscillations
  • Resonance
  • Periodic functions and applications

Chapter 15: Waves

  • Doppler effect

 

NCERT Class 11 Physics Deleted Topics and Exercises

NCERT has also removed specific textbook sections and exercises. Students should not prepare these topics for the academic year 2025–26. The following textbook content has been officially deleted.
