CBSE has started the LOC submission process for Class 10 second board exam 2026 from April 16. Schools must complete registrations by April 22 in phases. Students can improve marks in up to three subjects, while compartment students will remain in the same category.
CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 LOC Window Opens from April 16 as the Central Board of Secondary Education has begun the submission process for schools. The registration window will remain open until April 22, 2026. Schools must upload student details within the given timeline. The board has released detailed guidelines to ensure smooth submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the second board exam.
CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 LOC Submission Schedule and Phases
CBSE has divided the LOC submission process into multiple phases for better management. Schools are required to follow the timeline strictly. The detailed schedule is provided below:
- Phase 1: Submission with fee payment from April 16 to April 20, 2026
- Phase 2: Completion of submissions and payments (within the same timeline)
- Final Window: With late fee from April 21 to April 22, 2026
No corrections, additions, or extensions will be allowed after the final deadline. Schools must ensure accuracy before submission.
CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 Eligibility and Guidelines
CBSE has outlined clear eligibility criteria and instructions for students appearing in the second board exam. Students who have passed the main Class 10 exam can apply for improvement in up to three subjects, including Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages.
Key guidelines include:
- Around 1,47,172 students have been placed in the compartment category
- Compartment students will continue under the same status
- Students in the Essential Repeat category are not eligible
- Children With Special Needs (CWSN) facilities will continue for already registered candidates
- Sports category students can appear only with prior approval
CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 Fee Structure and Payment Mode
CBSE has specified the fee details for candidates appearing in the second board exam. Payments must be completed within the submission window. The fee details are as follows:
- INR 320 per subject for students in India and Nepal
- INR 1100 per subject for students outside India
- Late fee of INR 2000 applicable during the final window
All payments must be made online through debit card, credit card, NEFT, RTGS, UPI, or net banking. Offline payment methods are not accepted.
CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 Important Instructions for Students
CBSE has clarified several important points regarding the second board exam process. The exam will be conducted based on the same syllabus as the main 2026 board exams. Once the LOC is submitted, no changes will be permitted under any circumstances.
If a student registers but does not appear in the exam, the main board exam result will be treated as final. Schools are advised to verify all details carefully before final submission to avoid discrepancies.
