The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued an advisory amid the ongoing 2026 board exams, cautioning against fake paper leak rumours. Students and schools have been asked to rely only on official CBSE communication channels.
CBSE Board Exams 2026 are currently underway across the country, with the board issuing an important advisory to address concerns over alleged paper leaks. The notice aims to prevent panic among students and ensure a smooth examination process. The advisory has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education amid reports of misinformation circulating on social media platforms during the examination period.
CBSE Advisory on Fake Paper Leak Claims
The board clarified that rumours related to question paper leaks tend to surface during examination seasons, often spread through unverified social media posts and messaging platforms. CBSE stated that such claims are misleading and intended to create unnecessary anxiety among candidates. Students, parents, and schools have been advised not to engage with or forward unverified information. The board highlighted that believing or sharing false claims can disrupt exam preparation and negatively impact students’ mental well-being during a crucial academic phase.
Status of CBSE Board Exams 2026
According to the official schedule, the Class 10 board examinations will conclude on 11 March 2026, while the Class 12 board examinations will end on 10 April 2026. Lakhs of students are appearing for the exams at centres nationwide under established examination protocols. CBSE confirmed that examinations are being conducted as planned, with strict adherence to operational guidelines and monitoring mechanisms to maintain fairness and transparency.
Security Measures and Monitoring Systems
The board reassured stakeholders that comprehensive security arrangements are in place to prevent any malpractice. These include secure handling of question papers, controlled access at exam centres, and close supervision by invigilators and board-appointed officials. CBSE stated that the examination system follows well-established procedures implemented successfully in previous years. Any attempt to compromise the integrity of the exams or spread misinformation will be dealt with strictly under applicable rules and regulations.
Warning Against Sharing Misinformation
In its notice, the board emphasised that circulating fake news related to board examinations is a serious offence and may attract disciplinary or legal action. Schools have also been instructed to guide students and parents appropriately and discourage reliance on unofficial sources.
Official Channels for Verified Updates
For authentic information, CBSE has directed all stakeholders to rely only on official communication channels, including the board’s official website cbse.gov.in, regional offices, or the board headquarters in New Delhi. The board has urged candidates to remain focused on their studies, stay calm, and avoid distractions caused by unverified content on social media as the examinations progress.
