The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Class 12 exams started on 02 February 2026, but admit card glitches and incorrect centre information disrupted Day 1 for many students. Several candidates were unable to enter exam halls or reached late due to wrong details, prompting protests at multiple centres. The exams are being held across 1,762 centres until 13 February 2026 under strict guidelines.
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) commenced the Class 12 (Intermediate) board examinations 2026 on 02 February 2026, but the first day was marred by problems related to admit cards and reporting times.
Admit Card Errors and Student Delays
Reports indicate that a significant number of students were unable to appear for the exam because of incorrect information printed on their admit cards, including wrong exam centre details. Many candidates reached the wrong locations or arrived after the reporting time due to these errors, and strict entry rules meant that students were denied access once gates closed. This situation resulted in protests by students and parents at several centres across Bihar, including efforts to urge officials to correct admit card details for subsequent exam days.
Protests and Centre Incidents
At examination centres across districts such as Patna, Samastipur, Begusarai, and Muzaffarpur, confusion and frustration were reported as students struggled with the discrepancies. Parents and examinees raised concerns about the impact of incorrect admit card data on their ability to appear for the scheduled papers Despite the protests, the board stated that the exam schedule will continue as planned through the end of the cycle.
Bihar Board Inter Exam 2026 Details
The Intermediate Examination is being conducted across 1,762 examination centres, including 152 model centres set up for this cycle, with exams scheduled to run until 13 February 2026
Exam timings are:
- Morning session: 09:30 AM to 12:45 PM
- Afternoon session: 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM
On Day 1, subjects such as Biology and Philosophy were held in the morning session and Economics in the afternoon.
Entry Rules and Board Guidelines
BSEB has maintained strict entry protocols, requiring students to arrive well before the reporting time. Students who arrived late, even by a few minutes, were not permitted to take the exam — a rule the board has reinforced to maintain exam integrity. Earlier reports also noted that the board issued warnings about illegal entry and malpractice, including possible FIRs and bans for violators, indicating a broader focus on discipline and fairness this year.
Student and Parent Reactions
Videos and eyewitness reports showed students crying outside centres after being denied entry for being late or facing incorrect admit card details. In some locations, frustration escalated, and parents demanded corrective action from officials. Candidates and guardians are advised to verify their admit card details carefully and plan travel to centres well in advance to avoid similar issues on upcoming exam days.
