APAAR ID Mandatory for Maharashtra SSC, HSC Exams From 2026

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has made APAAR ID mandatory for Maharashtra SSC and HSC board exams 2026. The directive applies to students appearing for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations scheduled during the February–March 2026 cycle. According to board officials, students without a valid APAAR ID may face difficulties in accessing board results and digital academic records. Schools and junior colleges have been instructed to complete the registration process well in advance to avoid last-minute issues.

Maharashtra SSC, HSC Exams 2026 Schedule and Coverage

The board has already announced the examination schedule for both secondary and higher secondary students. These timelines are critical as the APAAR ID requirement will be enforced throughout the examination and result process. Before reviewing the exam dates, students and parents should note that the APAAR ID will be linked with examination records, results, and certificates issued by the board.

What Is APAAR ID and Why It Matters for Board Exams

APAAR ID, short for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry, is a 12-digit unique academic identification number introduced under the National Education Policy. It serves as a permanent digital academic identity for students across schools and higher education institutions. For Maharashtra Board students, the APAAR ID will act as a single reference point connecting marksheets, certificates, and academic history. Officials have clarified that this system aims to improve transparency and long-term record management.

How APAAR ID Will Be Used for Maharashtra Board Results?

The Maharashtra board plans to integrate SSC and HSC results with DigiLocker through APAAR ID. This integration will allow students to securely access and download marksheets and certificates online. By linking results digitally, the board expects to reduce paperwork, minimize errors, and simplify document verification during college admissions, scholarship applications, and other academic processes.

Instructions Issued to Schools and Junior Colleges

Schools and junior colleges have been directed to complete APAAR ID registration for all eligible students appearing in the Maharashtra Board Exams 2026. Authorities have emphasized early registration to prevent delays in result declaration and certificate access. Officials also noted that the APAAR framework is being implemented nationwide, with registration already completed for several crore students across India. Maharashtra’s move aligns the state board with the broader national academic digitization process.
