Why is SSC MTS 2025 Exam Delayed? Expected Date, Reason

The SSC MTS 2025 Exam is reportedly delayed due to the overlapping schedule of other major SSC exams such as CHSL, CGL, and JE. As per reports, nearly 36 lakh candidates have registered for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar posts this year, creating a heavy load on SSC’s annual exam calendar. The SSC MTS 2025 Exam is now expected to be held after mid-December 2025.

SSC MTS 2025 Exam Overview

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar exams annually to recruit candidates across various central government departments. The recruitment process attracts a large number of aspirants due to its Class 10 eligibility and nationwide vacancies.

Why is SSC MTS 2025 Exam Delayed?

The primary reason for the SSC MTS 2025 delay is the overlap with ongoing SSC CHSL, CGL, and JE examinations.

• The SSC CHSL 2025 is scheduled from November 12, 2025, and will continue for around 18 days.
• The ongoing SSC CGL and JE exams have also consumed much of SSC’s logistical capacity.
• Additionally, festive holidays such as Diwali and Chhath Puja have further extended the examination schedule.
• Given the massive number of applicants (36 lakh), managing exam centres and logistics requires additional time.

As a result, SSC is likely to conduct the MTS 2025 exam after the completion of CHSL 2025, which ends in late November.

Expected SSC MTS Exam Date 2025

Based on the Commission’s usual scheduling pattern, the SSC MTS 2025 Exam is expected to begin after December 15, 2025. The official exam date notification is likely to be issued by the last week of November 2025.
