WBJEE 2026 Application Date Awaited; Exam Delay Linked to Polls

WBJEE 2026 application dates are expected to be announced soon, as the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board is yet to release the official examination notification. The notification was earlier expected in December 2025, but no update has been issued so far. The delay has raised concerns among engineering aspirants awaiting clarity on the application and examination schedule.

Possible Impact of State Elections on WBJEE 2026 Schedule

According to available reports, the delay in the WBJEE 2026 notification may be linked to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, which are expected to be held around March or April 2026. Since election dates have not been officially announced, the examination authority may be postponing the release of the exam schedule to avoid any overlap. The WBJEE official notification usually provides details regarding the application timeline, exam date, and other key guidelines for candidates.

Expected WBJEE 2026 Application and Exam Timeline

Based on previous years’ trends, the WBJEE 2026 application form is expected to be released in the third week of January 2026, with the online registration window remaining open for approximately one month. The WBJEE 2026 examination is tentatively expected to be conducted in the last week of April 2026 in pen-and-paper mode.

WBJEE 2026 Admission Purpose

WBJEE 2026 will be conducted for admission to BTech programmes offered by state government and self-financed engineering institutes across West Bengal. Only candidates who qualify the entrance examination will be eligible for participation in the counselling and seat allotment process.
