WBJEE 2025 Merit List Expected Tomorrow, Declaration Ends Today

WBJEE 2025 Merit List: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has announced that the facility for candidates to declare their SC/ST/OBC reservation category for WBJEE 2025 will close today, August 21, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Candidates who have appeared for the WBJEE 2025 exam can log in on the official portal using their application number, roll number, and date of birth to submit these details along with the necessary supporting certificates.

Reason for WBJEE 2025 Merit List Delay

WBJEE 2025 merit list and result, initially expected on August 7, 2025, have been delayed. This delay is due to legal interventions by the Calcutta High Court, which rejected the previous merit list, deeming it “erroneous and unsustainable.” The court ordered WBJEEB to prepare a fresh merit list within 15 days, following the older 7% OBC reservation policy recognised by the state before 2010.

As a result, the new merit list and WBJEE 2025 results are now anticipated to be released by August 22, 2025. However, this timeline could be further delayed as the board completes the verification process for the reservation category.

Candidates are advised to monitor official announcements and submit their reservation category promptly to avoid exclusion from the updated merit list.

With the declaration facility closing today, the state's student community awaits the release of the final results, hoping for clarity after months of uncertainty. The high court’s intervention underscores the importance of adhering to reservation policies while maintaining fairness in the admission process.
