Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has announced admissions for its PhD and Direct PhD programmes for 2026. Interested candidates can appear for the VITREE (VIT Research Entrance Examination) scheduled on December 7, 2025, across 25 cities in India. The two-hour multiple-choice test evaluates candidates’ intellectual capabilities. Each correct answer carries one mark, with no negative marking. Candidates scoring an overall zero will be ineligible for the next stage of admission, the interview.

- Register online on vit.ac.in as a new user.
- Verify registration via SMS and email.

Candidates will later select the exam venue and time slot, generate their admit cards, and appear for the entrance examination.
