UPSC LDCE 2026 Exam on March 8, Registration Details and Pattern

The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2026 for the post of Assistant Commandant (Executive) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The written exam will take place on March 8, 2026, in New Delhi. The online registration process is now active on the official portal.

 

The recruitment aims to fill 20 vacancies through a three-stage selection process. Out of these, 16 posts are for the General category, 3 posts for SC, and 1 post for ST. As per the rules of the Ministry of Home Affairs, only eligible departmental candidates of CISF can apply for this examination.

 

The application form was released on December 3, 2025, and will remain available until 6 PM on December 23, 2025. The commission has advised applicants to fill every section correctly, as no correction window will be provided. Candidates must send a printed copy of the online application through the proper channel to the CISF authorities before January 9, 2026. This step is required for verification and forwarding of the application to the commission.

 

Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam will move to the Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standard Tests. These tests will be conducted by CISF to check compliance with the physical and medical standards prescribed by the ministry.

Paper 2 allows candidates to write the essay in English or Hindi. However, précis writing and comprehension must be written in English only.

Candidates must meet the SHAPE-1 medical standard, as prescribed in the official rules. The examination will be held in offline mode. All applicants must ensure timely submission of their online form and printed copy to complete the application process.
