UPSC EPFO 2025 Last-Minute Preparation: 50 High-Scoring Topics

With the UPSC EPFO 2025 written examination scheduled for November thirty, thousands of candidates across the country are in the final phase of preparation. The examination will be conducted for the recruitment of Enforcement Officers/Accounts Officers (EO/AO) and Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners (APFC) under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). As the exam approaches, experts suggest focusing on high-weightage topics, previous year trends, and accuracy-based revision instead of heavy new learning.

UPSC EPFO 2025 Exam Pattern at a Glance

The UPSC EPFO written test will be conducted in offline OMR-based mode. The paper will consist of one hundred twenty objective-type questions to be attempted in two hours. Each correct answer carries two point five marks, while one-third marks will be deducted for every incorrect response. The question paper will be available in English and Hindi, except for the General English section, which will be in English only. Candidates qualifying the written test will be called for the Interview/Personality Test of one hundred marks, and the final merit will be prepared on the basis of both stages.

High-Scoring Subjects to Revise Before UPSC EPFO 2025

Based on previous year analysis and expert feedback, the following areas are considered most scoring for last-day revision:

  • General English: Grammar rules, vocabulary, error spotting, reading comprehension, para-jumbles, and synonyms-antonyms.
  • Indian Polity and Governance: Constitution features, fundamental rights, DPSPs, labour laws, social security legislation.
  • Economy and Industrial Relations: Basic economic concepts, employment trends, wage policy, labour welfare schemes.
  • History and Freedom Struggle: National movements, important acts, freedom fighters, constitutional developments.
  • Current Affairs and Development Issues: National and international events of the past one year, government schemes, economic reforms.
  • Quantitative Aptitude and Mental Ability: Percentages, ratios, averages, data interpretation, reasoning.
  • General Science and Computer Basics: Everyday science concepts and basic computer applications.

Last-Day Preparation Strategy for UPSC EPFO Aspirants

Experts advise candidates to avoid full mock tests on the final day and focus instead on:

  • Revising short notes and formulas
  • Reading labour laws and social security acts once again
  • Practising a few previous year questions for accuracy
  • Taking proper rest and maintaining exam-day discipline

Time management and negative marking control are expected to play a decisive role in the final score.

Selection Process and Competition Level

The UPSC EPFO recruitment remains one of the most competitive labour-sector examinations in the country due to limited vacancies and nationwide participation. Shortlisted candidates after the written test will face the interview round, which plays a key role in determining the final rank.
