UP TET 2025 Postponed; Over 15 Lakh Candidates Affected, Check Details

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) 2025, scheduled for January 29 and 30, 2026, has been postponed, affecting more than 15 lakh registered candidates. The decision was taken during the first meeting of Prashant Kumar, newly appointed Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), held shortly after he assumed office on December 24, 2025. The January session of UP TET 2025 was expected to be the first exam held after 2022, raising hopes among teaching aspirants for recruitment in government schools across Uttar Pradesh. With the postponement, candidates preparing for the exam will now have to wait for the announcement of fresh exam dates.

Reason for UP TET 2025 Postponement

The UPESSC has not yet provided an official explanation for deferring the January 2026 exam. While reports suggest administrative and technical preparations as a possible reason, the commission has not released any formal notification clarifying the decision. Candidates are advised to rely only on official UPESSC announcements and avoid unofficial information circulating on social media.

Steps Candidates Should Follow

With the postponement, candidates should remain vigilant and keep checking official updates. Key points to remember:

• Regularly monitor the UPESSC website for official notifications.
• Avoid trusting social media claims or unverified sources about new exam dates.
• Ensure all registration and application details are correct to avoid issues when the exam is rescheduled.

The commission is expected to issue a fresh notice regarding UP TET 2025 exam dates in the coming days. Candidates are advised to prepare accordingly and stay updated on official instructions.
