The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has commenced the UP Board Class 12 practical exams 2026. For the first time, examiners are required to submit practical marks online via a mobile app featuring a double‑entry verification process to enhance transparency and reduce errors.
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has launched the Class 12 practical examinations for the year 2026, with a key procedural change in how marks are submitted. This year, the board has implemented a fully digital marks‑submission process using a mobile application, aimed at improving accuracy and transparency in practical assessment.
UP Board Class 12 Practical Exams 2026 Commence with Digital Submission System
The UP Board Class 12 practical exams 2026 have officially begun across designated centres in Uttar Pradesh. In a significant shift from traditional practices, marks for the practical exams must now be uploaded online using a mobile app developed by the board. Examiners will not be able to use offline methods for submitting final marks. This initiative follows a trial phase in the previous session, where online submission was introduced alongside conventional paper entry. Based on its positive outcomes, UPMSP has made the mobile app submission mandatory for the 2026 practical assessments to ensure streamlined record‑keeping and evaluation.
How the Mobile App Enhances Accuracy and Transparency?
The dedicated mobile application incorporates a double‑entry verification system to reduce errors in marked entry. Examiners can upload marks for up to 80 students at a time, after which they are required to re-enter the same marks in a second window. If the two entries do not match, the app highlights discrepancies, prompting correction before submission. In addition, the app includes geo‑location verification to ensure examiners are physically present at the examination centre when entering marks. This feature helps prevent irregularities and reinforces the credibility of the marks submission process. Feedback and complaints related to the practical exams can also be submitted through the board’s portal, offering another channel for addressing concerns.
UP Board Class 12: Objective Behind the Digital Shift
UPMSP’s move to an online marks‑submission system reflects the board’s broader commitment to digitising examination processes. According to official statements, this measure is expected to deliver faster mark processing, reduced data errors, and enhanced transparency — essential elements for maintaining fairness in the evaluation of practical assessments. Officials have emphasised that the new system is designed to safeguard the integrity of practical examinations and ensure that mark entries are accurate, verifiable, and free from manipulation.
UP Board Class 12: Impact on Schools and Examiners
With the UP Board Class 12 practical exams 2026 now underway, schools and examiners are adapting to the digital submission requirement. Examiners must familiarise themselves with the mobile app’s features, including the dual data entry and location verification, before entering marks. The online platform also facilitates communication between examiners and the board for submitting suggestions or reporting issues faced during the examination period. As practical exams continue across the state, this digitised approach is expected to form a model for future evaluations under the UP Board system.
