UPMSP has released the UP Board Academic Calendar 2026–27 with the session starting on 1 April 2026. The schedule includes unit tests, half-yearly exams, pre-boards, and final board exams from February 2027.

The UP Board Academic Calendar 2026–27 has been officially released by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP). The new academic session will commence from 1 April 2026, outlining a structured schedule for exams and assessments. The calendar provides a complete roadmap for students of Classes 9 to 12, ensuring timely syllabus completion and regular evaluation throughout the year.

 

UP Board Academic Calendar 2026-27 Key Dates and Schedule

The academic calendar includes detailed timelines for unit tests, half-yearly exams, and board examinations. The structured plan aims to help students track their progress effectively. Before reviewing the schedule, it is important to note that all dates are tentative and may be revised by the board if required.

  • Session begins: 1 April 2026
  • First unit test (MCQ-based): Last week of May 2026
  • Second unit test (descriptive): Last week of July 2026
  • Half-yearly practical exams: Last week of September 2026
  • Half-yearly written exams: Second and third week of October 2026
  • Third unit test (MCQ-based): Last week of November 2026
  • Fourth unit test (descriptive): Last week of December 2026
  • Pre-board practical exams (Class 12): Second week of January 2027
  • Pre-board written exams (Class 10 & 12): Third week of January 2027
  • Final board exams: February to March 2027

 

UP Board Unit Test and Continuous Assessment Plan

The UPMSP has designed a four-phase unit test system to monitor academic performance consistently. These tests will be conducted in both MCQ and descriptive formats. The following unit test plan will be implemented across schools:

  • First unit test: MCQ-based evaluation
  • Second unit test: Descriptive format
  • Third unit test: MCQ-based assessment
  • Fourth unit test: Descriptive format

This approach ensures regular feedback, helping students improve conceptual understanding and exam readiness.

 

Half-Yearly and Pre-Board Exam Timeline

The half-yearly and pre-board exams are critical checkpoints in the academic session. They help evaluate mid-term performance and prepare students for final exams. Key timelines for these examinations are as follows:

  • Half-yearly practical exams: Fourth week of September 2026
  • Half-yearly written exams: October 2026
  • Marks upload: First week of November 2026
  • Pre-board practicals (Class 12): From 11 January 2027
  • Pre-board exams (Class 10 & 12): From 18 January 2027

These assessments simulate final exam conditions and provide an opportunity for performance improvement.

 

UP Board Annual Exams and Syllabus Completion Deadline

The board has also outlined timelines for annual exams and syllabus completion to ensure smooth academic progression. Before appearing for final exams, schools are required to complete the syllabus within the given deadlines:

  • Class 10 & 12 syllabus completion: By 10 January 2027
  • Class 9 & 11 syllabus completion: By 25 January 2027
  • Annual exams (Class 9 & 11): 1 February to 10 February 2027
  • Board practical exams: 27 January to 10 February 2027
  • Board exams: From February 2027

The evaluation process and result preparation are expected to be completed by March 2027, ensuring timely declaration of results.
