UP Board Exam 2026 answer sheet evaluation will follow a new step marking system introduced by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad. The new method will be applied to UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 examinations to make the evaluation process more transparent and student-friendly.

For instance, if a question carries five marks and a student writes the correct formula and follows the proper solving method but makes a mistake in the final calculation, the examiner will still award partial marks for the correct steps.
This evaluation approach is already used in several education boards and competitive examinations, as it helps reward conceptual clarity rather than focusing solely on the final answer.
