The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has extended the first phase of UP Board 2026 Class 12 practical exams to 4 February 2026 to complete pending tests in some schools. The move comes as the original schedule ending 1 February could not be completed in parts of the state. Practical exams will continue as per revised timelines ahead of theory exams from 18 February.
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced an extension of the first phase of Class 12 (Intermediate) practical examinations for the UP Board 2026 session. The deadline has been pushed from 1 February to 4 February 2026 to allow schools where practical tests remain incomplete to finish the process.
Revised Practical Exam Timeline for UPMSP 2026
According to the official notification, the first phase of intermediate practical exams had been previously scheduled to conclude on 1 February 2026. However, after reports that some schools could not complete the practical tests within the allotted period, the Board extended the deadline to 4 February 2026 in the interest of students.
This extension applies to schools where practical exams are still pending and gives them extra time to assess and record students’ performance. The UPMSP has directed all concerned centres to complete the assessments within the revised timeline and adhere to rules governing exam conduct.
How This Extension Impacts UP Board Exam Preparation?
The practical examinations form an essential component of the UP Board Class 12 evaluation and contribute to students’ internal assessment marks. By extending the first phase deadline, the Board aims to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged because their school could not finish practical tests earlier. The UP Board’s Class 10 and Class 12 theory exams for the academic year 2026 are scheduled to begin from 18 February 2026 and will continue until 12 March 2026 in offline mode at designated centres across the state.
UP Board Important Instructions for Schools and Students
The UPMSP has asked all school authorities conducting practical exams to strictly observe the updated schedule and complete necessary administrative formalities by 4 February 2026. Once practical exams are concluded, schools will upload marks as per the prescribed Board procedure. Students and parents are advised to stay in touch with their school authorities for confirmation of completed practicals and related evaluation documentation ahead of the main theory exams.
