The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is set to start the evaluation of answer sheets for UP Board Class 10 and 12 exams 2026 from 18 March 2026. Evaluation work will be carried out across the state under CCTV supervision, with step marking introduced for fair assessment
The UP Board evaluation process for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations 2026 will commence from 18 March 2026, following the conclusion of the board exams on 12 March 2026. The evaluation of answer copies will be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) across multiple assessment centres in the state. Board officials have finalised arrangements for the assessment of lakhs of answer scripts, ensuring a systematic and transparent evaluation process.
UP Board Evaluation: Dates & Assessment Plan
The evaluation schedule outlines when and how the answer sheets will be checked by appointed teachers and examiners
- Exams Concluded: 12 March 2026
- Evaluation Begins: 18 March 2026
- Evaluation Ends: Expected by early April 2026
- Evaluation Centres: 250+ centres across Uttar Pradesh
- Assessors: Around 1.5 lakh teachers deployed for assessment
- Monitoring: CCTV surveillance at evaluation centres to ensure fair marking
The board has asked teachers to strictly follow protocols and has barred the use of mobile phones and electronic devices during the evaluation process. External visitors are not allowed inside evaluation centres to maintain integrity.
Step Marking Introduced for Fair Evaluation
For the first time, the UPMSP is adopting a step marking system similar to some national boards. In this system, students can receive partial credit for correct steps in problem‑solving answers, particularly in subjects such as mathematics and science. This approach aims to deliver a more nuanced and fair assessment of student responses. Step marking is expected to help improve accuracy and reflect students’ understanding better than traditional marking schemes.
What Students Should Know?
While the evaluation process gets underway, students and parents should keep the following points in mind:
- Results for both Class 10 and Class 12 are expected later in April 2026 after completion of the evaluation process.
- Official result links will be activated on the UPMSP official portals once evaluation is complete.
- Students should regularly check upmsp.edu.in or the designated result portals for announcements.
Students awaiting their results following the board exams can plan accordingly and stay updated via official announcements on the evaluation progress and result declaration timelines.
