The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has postponed the recruitment examination that was scheduled to take place on October 5, 2025. The decision was announced after receiving multiple requests from candidates. The commission has confirmed that the new exam date will be announced later. Chief Executive Officer G.S. Martolia confirmed the postponement and said the step was taken in response to concerns raised by aspirants.
UKSSSC Exam Paper Leak Case
The postponement comes amid the controversy surrounding the recent UKSSSC exam paper leak incident. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the matter, stating that the government acted promptly to maintain transparency in the recruitment process. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), authorities arrested the accused immediately after the incident came to light. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was also formed to probe the entire examination process. CM Dhami assured students that the state government was committed to ensuring fairness. “We are committed to ensuring that the youth of Uttarakhand do not face injustice,” he said.
Government Action and Anti-Cheating Law
The Chief Minister highlighted that Uttarakhand has enacted India’s strictest anti-cheating law to prevent malpractice in recruitment. Under this law, more than 100 members of cheating mafias have been jailed, and over 25,000 youths have secured government jobs in the last four years. He further emphasised that the state government had taken strict measures to safeguard the future of candidates and ensure that recruitment remains transparent.
Political Reactions
CM Dhami criticised the opposition for attempting to politicise the issue. He claimed that rival parties were using students to create unrest while demanding a CBI inquiry for political mileage. At the same time, the Chief Minister assured aspirants that their concerns would be addressed. He confirmed that a judicially supervised probe into the UKSSSC graduate-level examination 2025 was underway.
