UGC NET Re-Exam 2026: No Fresh Application or Fee Required

The UGC NTA re-exam will be held on September 9 and 10, 2026. Candidates who appeared for these three subjects in the June session can appear for the re-examination without paying any additional examination fee.
The NTA will conduct the UGC NET June 2026 re-examination for English, Commerce and Sociology after issues were found in the original question papers. Candidates do not need to apply again.

The re-examination is limited to these three subjects. The remaining 84 subjects from the June 2026 examination will not be conducted again.
Do UGC NET Candidates Need to Apply Again?
- No. Candidates who already appeared for the affected English, Commerce, or Sociology papers do not have to submit a new application form.
- Candidates also do not have to pay another examination fee for the re-exam.
- They should regularly check the official UGC NET portal for the re-exam admit card and further instructions.
Why Is UGC NET Being Conducted Again?
- The NTA decided to re-conduct the three papers after an expert review of complaints related to the question papers.
- The issues included factual errors, language and translation problems, and other flaws. Following the review, the affected papers were cancelled and scheduled for re-examination.

Candidates appearing for the re-exam should:
- Check the official UGC NET portal regularly.
- Download the re-exam admit card when released.
- Check the exam date and shift carefully.
- Reach the exam centre on time.
- Carry the required documents and admit card.
- Prepare for the same subject for which they originally appeared.
