UGC NET January 2026 Answer Key Release and Objection Process

UGC NET January 2026 answer key will be released by the National Testing Agency after the completion of all scheduled examination days. The provisional answer key enables candidates to review their responses before the final result declaration.As of 03 January 2026, the UGC NET examination is ongoing, and post-exam evaluation activities are expected to follow soon after the final shift concludes.

 

UGC NET January 2026 Provisional Answer Key Release Timeline

The provisional answer key is released in online mode along with the recorded response sheets. This stage ensures transparency in the evaluation process. Before accessing the answer key, candidates should note the expected release sequence outlined below.

  • The provisional answer key is expected within five to seven days after the last exam date
  • Response sheets showing recorded answers will be released simultaneously
  • Access will be available through the official NTA UGC NET portal

 

UGC NET January 2026 Response Sheet Download Process

The response sheet allows candidates to view the answers marked during the examination. It can be accessed using login credentials generated at the time of registration. Candidates are advised to download and review the response sheet carefully before submitting any objections.

  • Login using application number and date of birth
  • Select the answer key and response sheet link
  • Download and save the PDF for reference

 

UGC NET January 2026 Answer Key Objection Process and Fee

NTA provides a limited objection window for challenging the provisional answer key. Objections must be supported with valid academic proof. Before raising objections, candidates must understand the financial and procedural requirements.

  • Objections can be submitted only in online mode
  • Each challenged question requires payment of INR 200
  • The objection fee is non-refundable
  • Supporting documents must be uploaded for every challenge

 

UGC NET January 2026 Final Answer Key and Result Preparation

After reviewing all submitted objections, NTA releases the final answer key. No further challenges are accepted once the final key is published. The final answer key is used to prepare the UGC NET result and cut-off marks.

  • Results are prepared subject-wise and category-wise
  • Cut-offs are released separately for Assistant Professor and JRF
  • Qualification is based on aggregate marks in both papers

 

What Comes After the UGC NET Answer Key Stage?

Once the final answer key is published, NTA moves towards the result declaration phase. The next steps include:
