The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to release the UGC NET December 2025 notification soon, expected in September 2025. UGC NET Exam: Key Details and Eligibility

  • The exam will be conducted online (CBT mode) in two shifts: 9 AM–12 PM and 3 PM–6 PM.
  • It comprises Paper 1 (General Aptitude, 50 MCQs, 100 marks) and Paper 2 (Subject-specific, 100 MCQs, 200 marks). No negative marking applies.
  • Applicants must hold a Master’s degree with a minimum 55% aggregate for the General category and 50% for the reserved categories. For JRF, the maximum age limit is 30 years, with relaxations for reserved categories.

  3. Fill basic details to register and obtain login credentials
  4. Complete the application form with personal and academic details

  6. Pay the application fee online (General: ₹1,150; OBC/EWS: ₹600; SC/ST/PwD: ₹325)
  7. Use the post-submission correction window, if required, to make permissible updates
  8. Download and retain the confirmation page for future reference
