The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the UGC NET June 2026 re-examination schedule for candidates appearing for English, Commerce and Sociology. The affected papers will be conducted on September 9 and 10, 2026, in two different shifts.

The decision to conduct the UGC NET re-exam 2026 was taken after an expert committee found several issues in the question papers, including factual, typographical, translation and grammatical errors, along with repetition of previously asked questions.

The UGC NET English re-exam 2026 and Commerce paper will be conducted on September 9, while the Sociology re-exam will take place on September 10.

UGC NET English Re-Exam 2026: Check Timing

The UGC NET English re-exam 2026 will be held on September 9 from 9 AM to 12 Noon in Shift 1.

Candidates should continue preparing for the complete English syllabus and wait for NTA's separate notification regarding the examination city, centre and admit card.

UGC NET Commerce Re-Exam 2026: Check Shift

The UGC NET Commerce re-exam 2026 is scheduled for September 9 from 3 PM to 6 PM in Shift 2.

Candidates should carefully check their admit card once released for the reporting time, examination centre and other instructions.

UGC NET Re-Exam 2026: No Additional Fee

Candidates appearing for the three affected subjects will not have to pay any additional examination fee for the re-examination. The fresh test is being conducted for candidates who appeared for the affected papers in the June 2026 cycle.

UGC NET Result 2026: Will Other Subjects Be Affected?

The re-examination of English, Commerce and Sociology will not affect the result processing of the other 84 subjects. NTA has clarified that the results, JRF allocation and eligibility certificates for the unaffected subjects will proceed separately.

For the three re-exam subjects, qualification and allocation of JRF, Assistant Professor and PhD admission eligibility will be determined according to the applicable UGC NET rules after the re-examination.
