UGC Adds National Institute of Management Solution as Fake University

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has added the National Institute of Management Solution (NIMS), Delhi, to its official list of fake universities. The commission has clarified that the institute is not recognised under Section 2(f) or Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and is therefore not authorised to award any degree.

In its official notice, the UGC stated that degrees issued by NIMS are invalid and cannot be used for higher education admissions or government jobs. The commission has strongly advised students, parents, and the general public to avoid taking admission in the institute, calling it a self-styled institution.

UGC Warning on Admission to Fake Universities

The UGC has reiterated that only universities established or recognised under the UGC Act are permitted to award degrees. Any institution operating outside this framework is considered illegal.

The commission has urged students to verify the status of institutions before enrolling. Admission to fake universities can result in loss of academic years, financial loss, and invalid qualifications.

Advisory for Students and Parents

The UGC has advised candidates to cross-check the recognition status of universities before applying for admission. Degrees from fake universities hold no legal or academic value, which can severely impact careers. Students are encouraged to rely only on institutions recognised by statutory authorities to ensure the validity of their qualifications and future opportunities.
