The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will release the UCEED 2026 Part-A cutoff on 5 February 2026, ahead of the result announcement. The cutoff marks will determine which candidates move on to Part-B evaluation; expected qualifying marks vary for General, OBC/EWS and SC/ST/PwD categories. Counselling is expected to start from late April 2026.

UCEED 2026 Cutoff Expected on Feb 5; Part-A Marks & Category Targets

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2026 cutoff for Part-A is set to be released on 5 February 2026 by IIT Bombay, according to official news updates. The Part-A cutoff will be made available in PDF format on the official UCEED website uceed.iitb.ac.in, and candidates will be able to access it without logging in. IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 entrance exam on 18 January 2026 for admission into Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes at participating Indian Institutes of Technology and other design institutions. Because UCEED has a two-part structure — Part-A (objective) and Part-B (creative) — only candidates who clear the Part-A qualifying marks will have their Part-B answer booklets considered and be ranked in the final merit list.

Expected UCEED 2026 Part-A Cutoff Marks

Based on previous years’ cutoff patterns and expert predictions, the expected UCEED 2026 Part-A qualifying marks for various categories may roughly fall in the following ranges:

  • General/Open: 55–60 marks (expected)
  • OBC-NCL & EWS: 48–56 marks (expected)
  • SC/ST/PwD: 30–35 marks (expected)

These marks are forecasts and may vary slightly when the official cutoff is released. The qualifying cutoff does not guarantee admission but determines eligibility for Part-B evaluation and ranking.

How the Cutoff Works?

UCEED uses a statistical formula involving the mean and standard deviation of Part-A scores to determine the qualifying cutoff. Part-B will only be evaluated for those who meet or exceed the Part-A cutoff. The final merit rank and scorecard depend on combined performance in Part-A and Part-B The cutoff criteria also incorporate category-wise relaxations — General/Open candidates typically face the highest qualifying threshold, while OBC/EWS, SC/ST and PwD candidates receive scaled eligibility marks in line with reservation norms.

What Happens After Cutoff Release?

Once UCEED 2026 cutoff marks are out on 5 February 2026, candidates will know whether they have qualified for Part-B evaluation. The UCEED 2026 result — including the final merit list with All India Ranks (AIR) — is scheduled to be declared on 6 March 2026. Qualified candidates will then move to the counselling and seat allotment process, which is expected to begin with round-1 allocation around 21 April 2026. Aspiring designers are advised to stay updated on uceed.iitb.ac.in for the official cutoff PDF, result link, scorecard details and counselling notifications as the UCEED admission cycle progresses.
