Telangana Education Commission Report on TS EAMCET

Recently, the Telangana Education Commission submitted a report to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The report recommends cancelling the TS EAMCET examination and introducing admissions based on Class 12 marks.

However, no official decision has been announced regarding this recommendation. Implementing such a major reform would require administrative changes and policy amendments, which may take time.

Other Key Recommendations in the Report

Apart from the proposal to cancel TS EAMCET, the commission suggested several structural reforms in the education system:

  • Cancellation of Class 10 Board Examination, retaining board exams only in Class 12
  • Introduction of English medium instruction from nursery to university level
  • Scrapping the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
  • Restructuring B.Ed into two streams:
    • B.Ed (Primary) for Nursery to Class V
    • B.Ed (Secondary) for Classes 6 to 12
  • Regulatory amendments to monitor IIT-JEE and NEET coaching centres and hostels

These recommendations are currently under review and have not been implemented. At present, TS EAMCET 2026 will be conducted as scheduled. Candidates are advised to complete the application process before the deadline and continue preparations as per the official exam dates.
