Total Correct Attempts Needed to Score 97 Percentile in CAT 2025

CAT 2025 Number of Correct Answers Needed for 97 Percentile is a key metric for management aspirants. The Common Admission Test was conducted by IIM Kozhikode on November 30, 2025, across approximately 170 cities in India. Candidates aiming for the 97 percentile need to plan their attempts and accuracy carefully.

CAT scores depend on raw marks, difficulty level, and normalization across slots. Achieving the target percentile requires understanding the number of correct answers needed.

Expected Correct Attempts for 97 Percentile in CAT 2025

Based on previous years’ trends, candidates need the following:

  • For overall 97 percentile, the expected score is 70–73 marks with a total of 23–24 attempts.

To secure this percentile, quality of attempts is more important than quantity. Candidates are advised to maintain 85–90% accuracy. Every wrong multiple-choice question reduces the effective score due to negative marking (−1 mark per wrong answer).

Factors Affecting CAT Percentile

  • Exam Difficulty: Harder questions may require fewer correct answers to achieve the same percentile.
  • Slot Variations: CAT 2025 was held in three slots, and normalization ensures fair assessment.
  • Number of Candidates: With around 3 lakh registrations, competition is high, influencing percentile cutoffs.
  • Raw Score Distribution: Overall performance of candidates affects percentile mapping each year.

Candidates should focus on strategic attempts with high accuracy rather than attempting all questions. The exact percentile will be officially available once IIM Kozhikode declares the results.
