The written examination includes the Tamil Eligibility Test and the Main Written Examination, followed by physical tests and viva-voce. The recruitment drive covers SI vacancies under Taluk, Armed Reserve and the Tamil Nadu Special Forces. The board has advised aspirants to review the complete syllabus before beginning preparation, as the written test will carry questions from Tamil grammar, general knowledge, reasoning, psychology, and police laws.

Tamil Eligibility Test (Part I) Syllabus
The Tamil Eligibility Test is compulsory for all candidates. It is based on the Class ten Tamil syllabus and evaluates grammar, literature and Tamil heritage. The test includes three sections: Grammar, Literature and Tamil Scholars.
