Each exam was conducted from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM, allowing students ample time to showcase their knowledge and skills.

Previous Year’s Performance Insights

Reflecting on the results from the previous year, 2025, a total of 8.71 lakh students took the SSLC exams, with 8,17,261 successfully passing, resulting in a commendable pass percentage of 93.8%. This marked a notable improvement of 2.3 percentage points compared to the year before. The Sivagangai district emerged as the top performer, achieving an impressive pass percentage of 98.31%.

Furthermore, a remarkable 4,917 schools achieved a 100% pass rate, highlighting the effectiveness of educational strategies in the region. Among the subjects, science stood out as the most popular, with many students attaining centum scores.

Gender Performance Disparities

In analyzing the gender performance in the 2025 results, it was evident that female students outperformed their male counterparts across all subjects. The pass percentage for girls was significantly higher at 95.88%, while boys recorded a pass percentage of 91.74%. This trend was particularly pronounced in subjects like mathematics and English, where girls scored approximately two percentage points higher than boys.

At the district level, Trichy and Kanyakumari exhibited the largest gender gap, exceeding three percentage points, indicating a need for targeted interventions to support male students in these areas.
