The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has released the Tamil Nadu Half Yearly Exam Schedule 2025-26 for Classes 5 to 12. The exams will be held from 10 to 23 December 2025. This early announcement helps students plan revision and prepare well for the assessments.
SSLC and Plus Two Exams from December 10
The half yearly exams for Class 10 (SSLC) and Class 12 (Plus Two) will begin on 10 December 2025. Students will write the Tamil or First Language paper on the first day, followed by the English or Second Language exam on 11 December. Other subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and elective papers will follow as per the timetable.

- Reading Time: 9:45 am to 9:55 am
- Verification Time: 5 minutes

Class 11 Exams in Afternoon Session
Class 11 exams will also be conducted from 10 to 23 December 2025, but in the afternoon. This gives students the full morning for last-minute preparation.

Language papers, major subjects from all streams, and electives will be covered during this period.
Classes 5 to 9 Exams from December 15
Students of Classes 5 to 9 will start their exams from 15 December 2025, and the schedule will run until 23 December 2025. The sessions are arranged to suit the learning levels of each class.
Class Timings:
- Classes 6 to 8: 10 am to 12:30 pm
- Class 5: 2 pm to 4 pm
- Class 9: 2 pm to 4:30 pm
Subjects like Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and optional papers are set with enough preparation time between each exam day.
