SSC Stenographer 2025 Skill Test date has been announced by the Staff Selection Commission for departmental candidates of the Eastern Region. As per the official notice, the skill test is tentatively scheduled to be held in the first week of March 2026. The examination will be conducted in computer-based mode for both English and Hindi stenography.
The announcement applies only to eligible departmental candidates who are required to appear for the SSC Typing or Stenographer Skill Test.
SSC Stenographer 2025 Skill Test Schedule and Mode
The SSC Stenographer skill test will be conducted on computers with dictation provided through Recorded Audio CDs only. Candidates will be tested in English and Hindi, depending on the language opted during application.
The dictation speed for the skill test will be 80 WPM, 100 WPM, and 120 WPM, as prescribed by the Commission. Candidates are advised to prepare strictly as per the notified speed standards.
For the Hindi Skill Test, candidates will be allowed to use Inscript or Remington keyboard layout. Once a keyboard layout is selected at the time of examination, no change will be permitted during the test.
Who Can Apply for SSC Stenographer 2025 Skill Test?
Only departmental candidates who are eligible and willing to appear in the SSC Typing or Stenographer Skill Test can apply.
Applications must be submitted through the proper channel and verified by the concerned department before submission. Direct applications without departmental verification will not be accepted. The last date to submit the SSC Stenographer Skill Test 2025 application is January 16, 2026, by 6 PM. Candidates are advised not to wait till the last date to complete the verification process.
SSC Stenographer 2025 Application Process Explained
The SSC Stenographer Skill Test application form will be made available on the official website of SSC (Eastern Region).
Candidates must carefully fill in all details and ensure accuracy before submission. After filling out the form, it must be verified by the respective department. Only duly verified applications should be forwarded to SSC (Eastern Region) for further processing. Incomplete or improperly forwarded applications are likely to be rejected.
SSC Stenographer Skill Test Centre and Regional Guidelines
Candidates must select their exam centre carefully while filling out the application form. The Commission has clearly stated that requests for change of examination centre will not be entertained after submission of the application. Departmental candidates working in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sikkim, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands must apply through SSC (Eastern Region).
Candidates posted in other states are required to submit their applications through their respective SSC Regional Offices as per jurisdiction. The Staff Selection Commission has advised all eligible candidates to strictly follow the guidelines mentioned in the notice to avoid disqualification at later stages.
