The SSC GD Constable 2026 examination has been postponed, with the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) set to announce new dates soon. The recruitment drive aims to fill 25,487 vacancies across multiple paramilitary forces.

SSC Postpones GD Constable 2026 Exam, New Dates to Be Announced Soon

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the SSC GD Constable 2026 examination, which was earlier scheduled to be held on February 23. The commission has stated that the revised examination dates will be announced soon on the official website. Candidates are advised to regularly check the SSC portal for updates regarding the new schedule and examination-related notifications.

 

SSC GD 2026 City Intimation Slip to Be Released Before Exam

The commission will release the city intimation slip about one week before the examination. This document allows candidates to know the city where their exam centre is located. The slip helps candidates plan travel and accommodation in advance, especially if the assigned exam centre is outside their home city. The official admit card will be released separately closer to the examination date.

 

Over 25,000 Vacancies Announced Under SSC GD Recruitment

According to the tentative vacancy details, the recruitment drive aims to fill 25,487 Constable (General Duty) postsacross several paramilitary forces. The distribution of vacancies includes:

  • 616 posts in Border Security Force (BSF)
  • 14,595 posts in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
  • 5,490 posts in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  • 1,764 posts in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
  • 1,293 posts in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
  • 1,706 posts in Assam Rifles
  • 23 posts in Secretariat Security Force (SSF)

These positions are part of one of the largest recruitment drives for constable-level posts in central armed police forces.

 

Eligibility Criteria for SSC GD Constable 2026

Candidates applying for the SSC GD Constable examination must have passed Matriculation or Class 10 from a recognised board or university. The required qualification must be completed on or before January 1, 2026, to be eligible for the recruitment process.

 

Steps to Download SSC GD Constable 2026 Admit Card

Once released, candidates can download their admit cards by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official SSC website at ssc.nic.in.
  2. Click on the “Admit Card” section on the homepage.
  3. Select your respective SSC regional website.
  4. Click on the link for “SSC GD Constable 2026 Admit Card.”
  5. Enter your Registration Number or Roll Number and Date of Birth.
  6. Submit the details to view the admit card.
  7. Download and print the admit card for use on the examination day.

Candidates should carry the printed admit card along with a valid photo ID to the exam centre once the new schedule is announced.
