SSC GD Exam City Intimation Slip 2026: Postponement, Dates & How to Download

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a key update on the SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 and the associated city intimation slip. Originally planned to begin on 23 February 2026, the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Constable (General Duty) recruitment has now been postponed until further notice. Candidates preparing for 25,487 vacancies are advised to keep monitoring official communications from SSC on its website — ssc.gov.in — for the latest schedule and related procedures.

SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 Postponed: What Candidates Need to Know?

In a public notice released on 17 February 2026, SSC confirmed that the SSC GD Constable 2026 exam — which recruits personnel for CAPFs, Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman in Assam Rifles — will not be held as initially scheduled. The commission has not yet announced the revised dates. The postponement affects aspirants who completed the application process and were waiting for exam city details and seat bookings. Candidates are recommended to continue their preparation and regularly check the official SSC portal for the updated exam calendar and schedule confirmation.

City Intimation Slip 2026: Expected Timeline and Importance

The SSC GD City Intimation Slip 2026 provides candidates with advance information about the exam city where their examination centre will be located. This slip also typically includes details such as the exam date, shift timing and centre region, helping aspirants plan travel and logistics ahead of the test.

According to official timelines and patterns from earlier years, the city intimation slip will be released about 8 to 10 days before the rescheduled exam date. This gives candidates sufficient time to make travel and stay arrangements before the official exam day. Because the exam schedule has changed, the earlier links and expected dates for the city slip are not currently active. Once released, candidates will need to log in using their Registration Number and Date of Birth on the SSC portal to view and download their city intimation slip.

Admit Card and Slot Booking Updates

SSC will not provide slot booking or self-selection options for the GD Constable Exam 2026. Instead, exam dates, shifts and cities will be automatically allotted by the commission. Once the new exam dates are confirmed, the SSC GD admit card 2026 will be issued approximately 2–3 days before the exam. Candidates should ensure they have their valid registration credentials ready to download the city slip and admit card once the links go live.

How to Download the SSC GD City Intimation Slip 2026?

Here’s the typical process candidates should follow:

1. Visit the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in
2. Click on the candidate login section.
3. Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth.
4. Access the City Intimation Slip link once it is activated.
5. Download and print a copy for reference.

Having the city intimation slip helps candidates confirm their exam location ahead of time and plan related arrangements before the admit card release.

What Next for Aspirants?

With the postponement announcement and awaiting updated dates, aspirants should:

• Regularly check the SSC official portal for confirmed new exam dates.
• Keep travel and stay plans flexible until city slips are released.
• Prepare for the exam syllabus actively, utilising the extra time effectively.
• Ensure documents like Registration Number, DOB details and identification proofs are correctly maintained for smooth downloads later.

Further updates on the SSC GD Constable Exam 2026 — including the revised dates, admit card release notifications, and city intimation slip activation — will be shared through SSC’s official notifications on ssc.gov.in.
