SSC GD Constable Exam Date 2026 has been announced by the Staff Selection Commission as part of the ongoing recruitment process for Constable (GD) posts. The recruitment drive aims to fill 25,487 vacancies across central armed police forces. The official schedule includes application dates, fee payment deadlines, correction window, and tentative examination dates. The notification was released earlier, and the examination timeline has now been formally outlined for candidates preparing for the written test.

 

SSC GD Constable 2026 Important Dates and Exam Schedule

The Staff Selection Commission released the recruitment notification on 01 December 2025. The online application process began on the same date and concluded on 31 December 2025. As per the official schedule, the SSC GD Constable CBT examination is tentatively scheduled for 23 February 2026. The admit card will be issued before the examination date through the official SSC portal. The application correction window was made available from 08 January 2026 to 10 January 2026, allowing candidates to rectify errors in submitted forms.

 

SSC GD Constable Application Fee and Correction Charges

Candidates were required to pay an application fee based on category. The fee structure was kept minimal to ensure wider participation. Candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories paid INR 100, while SC, ST, and all female candidates were exempted from paying any fee. The payment mode included debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, and other online options. For form corrections, a first-time correction fee of INR 200 and a second-time correction fee of INR 500 was applicable.

 

SSC GD Constable Vacancy Details 2026

The recruitment drive aims to fill 25,487 SSC GD Constable posts across various forces, including BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, SSB, NCB, and Assam Rifles. Out of the total vacancies, 23,467 posts are for male candidates, while 2,020 posts are reserved for female candidates. Category-wise distribution covers General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories as per government norms.

 

SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates applying for SSC GD Constable Recruitment must meet the prescribed eligibility conditions. The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 23 years as on 01 January 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per SSC rules. In terms of educational qualification, candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
