The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is expected to announce the SSC GD 2026 exam date soon on its official website ssc.gov.in. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the recruitment of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles was earlier postponed. The examination was initially scheduled to begin on 23 February 2026. However, the commission deferred the exam due to administrative reasons, and the new schedule is now awaited.
SSC GD 2026 Exam Postponement Details
SSC had earlier issued a notification stating that the SSC GD Constable CBT examination has been postponed until further notice. The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 25,487 vacancies across various forces.
Candidates who applied for the examination are currently waiting for the revised SSC GD 2026 exam schedule.
SSC GD 2026 Exam Date Update
Although the exam has been postponed, the recruitment process has not been cancelled. The commission is expected to release the new CBT exam dates shortly. Around 35 lakh candidates have registered for the SSC GD recruitment examination, making it one of the largest recruitment tests conducted by the commission. Once the dates are announced, SSC will also release the city intimation slip approximately 8–10 days before the exam.
SSC GD 2026 Admit Card and Exam City Slip
The SSC GD admit card 2026 will be issued a few days before the examination. Important points regarding the admit card release include:
- Exam city intimation slip will be available about 8–10 days before the exam
- Admit card release is expected around 4 days before the exam date
- Candidates will be able to download the hall ticket from ssc.gov.in
Applicants should keep their registration details and ID documents ready to avoid last-minute issues.
SSC GD 2026 Exam Pattern
The SSC GD CBT examination consists of four sections designed to assess candidates’ reasoning ability, knowledge, and basic mathematics skills. The exam structure is provided below.
