How to Calculate Marks Using SSC CGL Tier 1 Answer Key 2026

Candidates can use their response sheet and the official answer key to estimate their raw scores. They should apply the marking scheme specified in the SSC CGL 2026 notification and verify it against the official examination instructions.

For the Tier 1 examination, the published examination scheme specifies two marks for each correct answer and a deduction of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer. Candidates can use the following formula, subject to confirmation against the applicable official instructions:

Estimated raw score = (Correct answers × 2) − (Incorrect answers × 0.50)

Unattempted questions do not add marks. Candidates should remember that an estimated raw score is not necessarily their final score, as SSC may apply normalisation where applicable. The official result and cut-off should be used to confirm qualification status.
