SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Result Declared, 1.39 Lakh Qualify

SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Result has been declared on December 18 by the Staff Selection Commission. The result has been released along with details of qualified and withheld candidates. Candidates who appeared for the Tier 1 examination can check their result on the official website ssc.gov.in.

As per the official data, a total of 1,39,395 candidates have qualified the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 exam. These candidates have now been shortlisted for the SSC CGL Tier II 2025 examination, which is scheduled to be conducted in the third week of January 2026 on a tentative basis.

SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Result Overview

The Combined Graduate Level Examination is conducted by SSC every year to recruit candidates for various Group B and Group C posts in central government departments. The Tier 1 exam serves as the first stage of the selection process.

Candidates qualifying Tier 1 are eligible to appear for the next stage, which is the computer-based Tier II examination. The commission has clarified that selection for Tier II is strictly based on normalized scores obtained in Tier 1.

SSC CGL 2025 Result: Withheld and Unprocessed Cases

Along with the result declaration, SSC has also released details regarding withheld and unprocessed results.

According to the official notice, the Tier 1 results of 49 candidates have been withheld. These cases are currently under consideration due to pending litigations and court-related matters. The commission has stated that further action will be taken once the legal issues are resolved.

In addition, the results of 5 candidates have not been processed. This is due to reasons such as debarment from SSC examinations, cancellation of candidature, or rejection during scrutiny. These candidates will not be considered for further stages of the recruitment process.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Normalisation Method Explained

SSC has reiterated that the Tier 1 examination was conducted in multiple shifts, which required normalization of marks to ensure fairness. The commission applied the standard normalization formula and methodology published earlier through its official notice dated June 2, 2025.

The normalized marks obtained by candidates have been used to determine qualification for SSC CGL Tier II (CGLE Tier-II). This process ensures that variations in difficulty levels across different shifts do not affect merit ranking.

SSC CGL 2025 Tier II Exam Schedule

Candidates who have qualified Tier 1 should now prepare for the next stage of the examination process. The Tier II exam will play a crucial role in final selection and allocation of posts.

Before checking the timeline, candidates should note that the dates are tentative and subject to change as per SSC notifications.

Important SSC CGL 2025 Upcoming Events

Qualified candidates are advised to regularly monitor official updates and focus on Tier II preparation, as it is a decisive stage in the SSC CGL 2025 recruitment process.
