SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Begins: 28 Lakh Candidates, 260 Centres

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has commenced the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 examination today. The exam is being conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode from September 12 to September 26, 2025, across 260 centres in 129 cities nationwide. According to the Commission, 28.14 lakh candidates have registered for the exam this year. Around 93% of candidates were allotted one of their first three preferred cities, while the remaining 7% were accommodated in nearby locations.

 

SSC CGL 2025 Exam Schedule

The Tier 1 examination will be conducted in multiple shifts over 15 days. The CBT aims to assess candidates for recruitment in various Group B and Group C posts across central government departments.

 

SSC CGL 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

The Commission has issued detailed guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the exam. Candidates must follow the instructions mentioned below:

  • Carry the SSC CGL 2025 admit card along with a valid photo ID proof.
  • Aadhaar-based verification is mandatory at all centres.
  • Reach the test venue well before reporting time; late entry will not be allowed.
  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and other electronics are strictly prohibited.
  • Follow all instructions given by the invigilators.
  • Avoid any form of malpractice, including impersonation or unfair means. Strict action will be taken against violators.
  • Candidates are prohibited from disclosing exam questions outside the venue.
