SBI Clerk Mains 2025: Shift Timings, Exam Duration & Key Reporting

The State Bank of India (SBI) will conduct the Mains exam for the Clerk recruitment on November 21 2025. The exam will be held in two shifts across all selected centres. Candidates must check their admit cards for exact shift allocation but should plan according to upcoming timings. With the shift schedule now publicly shared by coaching portals and exam analysts, aspirants are urged to familiarise themselves with the timing, reporting requirements and total duration ahead of the test day. This helps avoid last-minute confusion and ensures smooth entry on exam day.

Exam Pattern & Section-Wise Duration for SBI Clerk Mains 2025

Understanding the timing structure is critical since the Mains paper comprises four sections with fixed sectional durations. Effective time management is vital for success.

  • General/Financial Awareness: 50 questions | 50 marks | 35 minutes
  • General English: 40 questions | 40 marks | 35 minutes
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions | 50 marks | 45 minutes
  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 50 questions | 60 marks | 45 minutes
  • Total: 190 questions | 200 marks | 2 h 40 m

Because switching between sections is not permitted once the time block begins, candidates should attempt stronger sections first and avoid getting stuck in lengthy questions early.

Essential Instructions for Exam Day

Arriving on time is only part of being prepared. Candidates must also verify the documents they carry and adhere to centre rules.

  • Carry the printed admit card along with a valid photo-ID proof.
  • Reach the exam centre at least 30 – 45 minutes ahead of reporting time.
  • Electronic devices such as smartwatches, calculators or mobile phones are strictly prohibited.
  • Complete biometric and signature registration before the exam window closes.
  • Read all instructions on the admit card carefully including dress code and prohibited items.

Considering the high competition for the Junior Associate (Clerk) role, every minute counts. Candidates should also use the time before entry to calm nerves and focus on the task ahead.
