RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026 Notification Soon: Check Vacancy

RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026 will be conducted separately from the RRB NTPC recruitment from the 2026 cycle onwards. The Railway Board issued fresh guidelines on October 7, 2026, stating that Station Master vacancies will now be notified through a separate Centralised Employment Notice (CEN). The vacancy count, application dates and detailed notification are still awaited.

This is an important change if you were waiting for Station Master posts under RRB NTPC 2026. The current RRB NTPC Graduate recruitment does not include Station Master, so you will need to look for the separate Station Master CEN.

What has changed in RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026?

Earlier, the Station Master post was part of the RRB NTPC Graduate recruitment. The Railway Board has now changed this system.

From the 2026 recruitment cycle, you will see a separate notification for Station Master instead of finding the post under the regular RRB NTPC CEN. The new guidelines also cover the exam pattern, eligibility, selection stages, CBAT shortlisting and medical requirements.

The table gives you the current position because the detailed Station Master notification has not yet been released.

When will the RRB Station Master Notification 2026 be released?

The Railway Recruitment Board has not announced the exact release date for the detailed RRB Station Master notification.

Reports indicate that a separate CEN will be issued after the Railway Board's latest guidelines. Some recruitment sources expect the short notice around the third week of October, but this timeline is not officially confirmed yet.

You should wait for the official CEN before relying on the vacancy count, application dates or fee details.

How many vacancies are expected for RRB Station Master 2026?

The RRB Station Master Vacancy 2026 has not been announced officially yet.

Several recruitment reports are pointing to 500+ vacancies, but the Railway Board's October 7 notice does not give a final vacancy number. The exact RRB-wise and category-wise vacancy details will be known only when the separate CEN is issued.

So, the currently available vacancy information can be read as follows:

• Total vacancies: To be announced
• RRB-wise vacancies: To be announced
• Category-wise vacancies: To be announced
• Reported expected vacancies: 500+
• Final number: Will be given in the separate CEN

What is the RRB Station Master Eligibility Criteria 2026?

You need a graduation degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification for the Station Master post. The Railway Board guidelines mention an age range of 20 to 33 years under the new recruitment arrangement.

The detailed CEN will confirm the age cut-off date and applicable relaxation for reserved categories.

You should check the final notification for the exact qualification wording and age calculation before applying.

What is the RRB Station Master Selection Process 2026?

The new recruitment guidelines provide for a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Those who clear the required stages will move to Document Verification and Medical Examination.

The selection flow is:

CBT → CBAT → Document Verification → Medical Examination

This is different from the earlier NTPC recruitment structure, where Station Master was included among the graduate-level posts under the common NTPC recruitment process.

What will be the RRB Station Master Exam Pattern 2026?

The Railway Board has issued guidelines covering the CBT pattern and revised syllabus, but the complete question-wise pattern should be checked in the dedicated CEN once it is released.

For now, you should keep an eye on the official notification for:

• Number of questions
• Total marks
• Exam duration
• Negative marking
• Subject-wise distribution
• CBT qualifying criteria
• CBAT rules
• Final shortlisting method

Avoid relying on an old RRB NTPC Station Master pattern until the new CEN confirms the details.

What is the RRB Station Master Salary 2026?

Station Master is a Level 6 railway post. Under the earlier CEN 06/2025 recruitment, the post carried an initial pay of INR 35,400 with an A2 medical standard. However, the salary and allowances applicable to the new 2026 recruitment should be confirmed from the upcoming Station Master CEN.

The final notification is expected to provide the exact pay details, allowances and other service conditions.

Is there any RRB Station Master Application Fee for 2026?

The RRB Station Master application fee has not been announced yet for the separate 2026 recruitment.

You should not rely on the fee charged under the earlier NTPC recruitment. The official CEN will mention the application fee, payment method, refund rules and any applicable concessions.

Until then, the fee status is:

Application fee: To be announced

What should you do before the RRB Station Master form starts?

You can start preparing before the notification arrives. Keep your graduation documents and basic application details ready.

• Check your graduation qualification.
• Keep your educational certificates ready.
• Check your date of birth.
• Keep a valid mobile number and email ID active.
• Follow the official RRB websites for the separate CEN.
