The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has completed the CBT-1 exam for the NTPC Undergraduate-level posts (12th pass) conducted between 7 August and 9 September 2025. After the exam, on 15 September the answer key for the Undergraduate level was released. At present, the result has not yet been formally released across all zones, with reports indicating a release is expected during the second or third week of October 2025.
Key dates & process for result, merit list and cut-off
Here is a breakdown of the major events and what aspirants should expect.
How to check your roll number and qualify for next stage?
Aspirants who appeared for the CBT 1 exam should follow the steps below once the result is out:
- Visit the regional RRB website applicable to the candidate’s zone.
- Look for the link labelled “RRB NTPC Undergraduate Result 2025 / CBT 1”.
- Download the PDF and use Ctrl+F to search the roll number.
- If the roll number appears, the candidate is shortlisted for CBT 2.
- Check the cut-off marks and merit list details, when released.
Important elements in the result document will include:
- Roll number of qualified candidates.
- Category-wise cut-off marks (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) and zone-wise data.
- Normalised scores (due to multiple shifts).
What this means for candidates and upcoming stages?
The release of the result marks a crucial transition for UG-level aspirants. Once the merit list is out, successful candidates will be scheduled for the next round, the CBT 2. A few pointers for candidates:
- If the roll number appears in the PDF, it is advisable to start preparing for CBT 2.
- Keep an eye on official notifications for the date of CBT 2 and any region-specific instructions.
- Retain multiple copies of the result PDF and screen-captures for future reference (document verification, etc).
- Monitor zone-wise cut-offs and compare expected performance. A dip or rise in cut-offs may depend on the number of candidates, the difficulty level and the vacancies.
