RRB NTPC 2025 Typing Test Date, Guidelines, Speed Criteria

RRB NTPC 2025 CBAT/CBTST on December 28 will be conducted for candidates shortlisted for graduate-level posts under the Non-Technical Popular Categories recruitment. The Railway Recruitment Boards have issued detailed guidelines for the Computer Based Aptitude Test and Computer Based Typing Skill Test. Candidates appearing for the test are advised to follow the prescribed instructions carefully to avoid disqualification. The RRB NTPC 2025 typing test is a qualifying stage and will be held as per the schedule released by the examination authority. The instructions cover test structure, language options, word requirements, evaluation criteria, and minimum qualifying speed.

 

RRB NTPC 2025 Typing Test Schedule and Posts Covered

The RRB NTPC 2025 CBAT/CBTST for graduate posts will be conducted on December 28, 2025. The typing skill test applies only to posts where typing proficiency is mandatory. This stage is applicable to the following posts:

  • Junior Clerk cum Typist
  • Accounts Clerk cum Typist
  • Senior Clerk cum Typist

Candidates appearing for these posts must qualify the typing test to remain eligible for final selection. Since the test is qualifying in nature, marks obtained will not be added to the final merit list.

 

Language Options and Word Requirements in RRB NTPC Typing Test 2025

The typing test will be conducted in either English or Hindi. English will remain the default language for all candidates unless Hindi is selected explicitly. The minimum word requirements are as follows:

  • 300 words in English, or
  • 250 words in Hindi,

Candidates opting for Hindi must be familiar with Kruti Dev or Mangal font, as specified by the Railway Recruitment Boards. Failure to meet the minimum word count will result in disqualification.

 

Structure of RRB NTPC 2025 Computer Based Typing Skill Test

The Computer Based Typing Skill Test will be conducted in a controlled environment with a defined structure. Candidates should be aware of all stages before appearing for the examination. The test will consist of the following three parts:

  • Typing practice session: 1 minute to familiarise candidates with the keyboard
  • Break: 30 seconds before the evaluation begins
  • Typing test: 10 minutes during which performance will be assessed

Candidates who complete the passage before the allotted time may retype the passage from the beginning within the remaining duration.

 

RRB NTPC 2025 Typing Test Evaluation Method

The evaluation of the typed passage will be carried out using a standardised method to ensure uniformity across candidates. The evaluation criteria include:

  • Errors will be classified as full mistakes and half mistakes
  • Up to 5 percent mistakes of the total words typed will be ignored
  • Final mistakes will be calculated using the formula:Final Mistakes = Total Mistakes − 5 percent of Total Words Typed

Candidates who fail to type the complete passage at least once within 10 minutes will be treated as disqualified. Transcripts of candidates not meeting the minimum word requirement will not be evaluated.

 

Minimum Qualifying Speed for RRB NTPC Typing Test 2025

To qualify the typing skill test, candidates must achieve the prescribed minimum typing speed. The qualifying speed is:

  • 30 words per minute in English, or
  • 25 words per minute in Hindi

Typing speed will be calculated using the formula:Typing Speed = (Total Words Typed − Final Mistakes) ÷ Time in minutes

 

The use of editing tools or correction functions during the test is strictly prohibited. Candidates are advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines issued by the Railway Recruitment Boards.
