Railway Recruitment Boards have extended the RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2026 last date to 9 March 2026. The drive aims to fill 22,195 vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal before the revised deadline.
RRB Level 1 Recruitment 2026 last date has been extended by the Railway Recruitment Boards. Eligible candidates can now apply online till 9 March 2026. The recruitment drive seeks to fill 22,195 Level 1 posts across various RRB regions.
The registration process began on 31 January 2026 and was earlier scheduled to close on 2 March 2026. With the extension, applicants have additional time to complete the online form at www.rrbapply.gov.in.
RRB Level 1 Vacancy 2026: Posts, Age Limit and Pay Scale
The recruitment will fill 22,195 vacancies under Level 1 of the pay matrix. The initial pay for selected candidates will be INR 18,000 per month. Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years as of 1 January 2026. Applicants should have passed Class 10 or hold an ITI certificate or equivalent qualification.
Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms. The details are outlined below. Eligible categories will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as follows:
- 3 years for OBC (NCL)
- 5 years for SC/ST
- 10 years for UR/EWS PwBD
- Additional 10 years for PwBD candidates in respective reserved categories
RRB Level 1 Selection Process and CBT Exam Pattern
The selection process consists of multiple stages to ensure merit-based recruitment. Candidates will undergo the following stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
The CBT will be conducted for 90 minutes. PwD candidates not availing a scribe will receive 120 minutes. The test will contain 100 questions for 100 marks. The subject-wise distribution is as follows:
- 25 questions from General Science
- 25 questions from Mathematics
- 30 questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning
- 20 questions from General Awareness and Current Affairs
Each question carries one mark.
RRB Application Fee and Refund Policy
The application fee varies by category. Refund is applicable after appearing in the CBT. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities and EBC categories must pay INR 250. The full amount will be refunded after appearing in the CBT. All other candidates must pay INR 500, of which INR 400 will be refunded after appearing in the CBT. Payment can be made through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.

Candidates must note the revised schedule carefully before applying.

- Last date to apply: 9 March 2026 (11:59 pm)
- Last date for fee payment: 11 March 2026
- Application modification window: 12 March to 21 March 2026
- Scribe details submission: 22 March to 26 March 2026
Applicants must complete One Time Registration, select the preferred RRB region, upload required documents, pay the fee and submit the form online. A printout of the submitted application should be retained for future reference.
