The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has started the online application process for RRB Group D 2026 under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 09/2025 for Level-1 posts across railway zones. A total of 22,195 vacancies are being advertised, and candidates can apply until 11:59 pm on 2 March 2026. Eligibility includes Class 10 pass and age limits of 18–33 years.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has begun the online application process for the RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 09/2025, opening up a major opportunity for job seekers with Class 10 or ITI qualifications.

 

RRB Group D 2026 Application Dates and Deadline

The RRB has made the online application form live from 31 January 2026 on its official portal rrbapply.gov.in. Eligible candidates will be able to submit their applications and required details until 11:59 pm on 2 March 2026, after which the portal will be closed for new entries. Applicants should ensure that the form is filled and fees paid before the deadline, as late submissions will not be accepted. The recruitment is being conducted for Level-1 posts in various zones and production units of Indian Railways.

 

Total Vacancies and Job Information

A total of 22,195 vacancies have been announced across India for Group D Level-1 posts under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. These positions include roles such as Assistant, Pointsman, Track Maintainer and related operational posts in different railway zones. Selected candidates will receive an initial basic pay of around INR 18,000 per month, along with applicable allowances as per railway norms.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

To be eligible for the RRB Group D 2026 recruitment:

  • Candidates must have passed Class 10 (High School) from a recognised board.
  • For some posts, ITI certificates or equivalent trade qualifications may be considered, depending on specific post-wise requirements.
  • Applicants should be between 18 and 33 years of age as of 1 January 2026, with age relaxation available for reserved category candidates as per government norms.

Candidates are advised to check the detailed eligibility conditions once the full notification is available, and ensure they have relevant certificates and documents before applying.

 

Application Fee and Submission Process

The application fee structure for RRB Group D 2026 is as follows:

  • General, OBC and EWS category candidates are required to pay INR 500.
  • SC, ST, PwD candidates and women applicants will pay a reduced fee of INR 250.

Applicants must register on the official portal, complete the online form with accurate details, upload required documents and make the payment online before the closing date.

 

Selection Process and Next Steps

The selection process for RRB Group D 2026 will include:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  3. Medical Examination and Document Verification

Candidates must qualify each stage to be considered for appointment to the respective Level-1 posts. Further updates including CBT dates, admit cards and exam city information are expected to be released on the official RRB websites in the coming weeks.
