Registration for JEE Advanced 2026 Opens Tomorrow: Key Details

The eagerly anticipated registration for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 is set to commence tomorrow, April 23, 2026, at 10 AM. This prestigious examination, which serves as a gateway to India’s premier engineering institutes, will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to prepare for the application process, which will be accessible through the official website, jeeadv.ac.in.

 

The registration window for JEE Advanced 2026 will remain open until May 2, 2026. Candidates must complete their registration by this date to be eligible for the examination, which is scheduled for May 17, 2026. To finalize their registration, candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee:

Eligibility Criteria for Candidates

  • Be among the top 250,000 rank holders in the BE or BTech paper of JEE Main 2026.
  • International candidates can apply directly for JEE Advanced without taking JEE Main, provided they fulfill other eligibility conditions.
  • Applicants must have been born on or after October 1, 2001. A five-year age relaxation is available for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
  • Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
  • Must have appeared for the Class 12 or equivalent examination for the first time in 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Those already admitted to any IIT under programs listed in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority Business Rules 2025 are not eligible to apply.

 

Admit Card and Examination Format

The admit card for JEE Advanced 2026 will be released on May 11, 2026, at 5 PM. Candidates will have the opportunity to download their admit cards until 2:30 PM on the day of the exam, May 17, 2026. The admit card will contain essential information, including:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Roll number
  • JEE Main application number
  • Photograph
  • Date of birth
  • Category
  • Signature

It is crucial for candidates to verify all details on the admit card and report any discrepancies to the respective zonal IIT authorities.

 

The JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT). The examination will consist of two compulsory papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each containing three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Both papers will be available in English and Hindi, with a duration of three hours each. Candidates in the PwD category who opt for compensatory time will be allotted four hours for each paper.

 

Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026

Candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced 2026 will also have the opportunity to apply for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026. This test is essential for admission to Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) programs offered at IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Roorkee. The AAT will consist of a single paper lasting three hours, with an additional hour provided for PwD candidates. The exam will be conducted only in English, and no separate admit card will be issued for this test.

 

Registration for AAT 2026 will commence on June 1, 2026, at 10 AM.
