The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the Assistant Recruitment 2026, offering 650 Assistant posts across its regional offices nationwide. Eligible graduates can submit their online applications on the official RBI portal rbi.org.in before the registration window closes on 8 March 2026

 

RBI Assistant 2026: Vacancy and Application Schedule

The RBI Assistant 2026 notification outlines the following schedule and key details:

  • Total Vacancies: 650 Assistant posts
  • Online Application Start: 16 February 2026
  • Last Date to Apply: 8 March 2026 (including fee payment)
  • Application Mode: Online only via rbi.org.in

Candidates should complete their application process — including personal details, educational qualifications, document uploads and fee payment — well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues

 

RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

To be eligible for the RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university, with at least 50% marks (pass class applies to SC/ST/PwBD categories).
  • Age Limit: Between 20 and 28 years as on the specified cut-off date, with age relaxations as per Government norms.
  • Language Requirements: Proficiency in the local language of the state or region where recruitment is sought.
  • Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of word processing on a computer is required.

Ex-servicemen must have completed at least 15 years of defence service and hold a graduation degree to be eligible

 

RBI Assistant Selection Process and Exam Structure

The RBI Assistant selection process involves multiple stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: Objective-type test to shortlist candidates
  2. Main Examination: Objective-type test covering reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English and general awareness.
  3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Qualifying test to assess proficiency in the specified local language.

Candidates who qualify the Main exam must also pass the LPT to be considered for final selection.
