Anger is rising among Rajasthan REET 2025 aspirants following the announcement of only 7,759 vacancies for third-grade teachers in the new REET Mains 2025 notification issued in July. The figure falls far short of expectations, with more than 12 lakh candidates competing for roughly one seat per 155 aspirants.
Out of the total posts, 5,636 are for Classes 1 to 5 (Level 1), and 2,123 are for Classes 6 to 8 (Level 2). Within the upper primary group, 1,043 seats are for Maths and Science, while 296 seats are allocated for Social Studies. Many candidates recall pre-election promises of around 10,000 teaching posts, leaving them frustrated at the final reduced figure. Several aspirants have invested years and substantial coaching fees, only to face disappointment. “We studied for years, thinking the government would honour its word. Now it feels like everything went to waste,” said Ravi Kumawat, an aspirant from Sikar who cleared REET twice.

REET Aspirants Voice Anger Online
Since October 24, 2025, hashtags #थर्ड_ग्रेड_में_पद_बढ़ाओ and #REET have trended on social media. Aspirants are tagging Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Education Minister Madan Dilawar, and RSMSSB Chairman Alok Raj, demanding more posts. Some aspirants are concerned that general category applicants from outside Rajasthan reduce local opportunities, requesting 80–90% reservation for state residents and at least 20,000 posts to meet actual demand. Social media posts highlight historical comparisons:
Protests and Future Action
Small protests and symbolic sit-ins have already taken place in Sikar, Nagaur, and Jodhpur. Some coaching institutes in Jaipur’s Gopalpura area even closed in solidarity. Candidates warn that larger marches may begin in November if no action is taken. With youth unemployment in Rajasthan near 30%, these teaching posts represent more than jobs—they are seen as a chance for long-awaited employment and hope.
