Punjab PTI Recruitment 2026 has been announced for 2,000 Physical Training Instructor (PTI) posts under the Primary Cadre. The online application process is underway, and eligible candidates can apply until August 31, 2026.

Punjab PTI Vacancy 2026

The Punjab Education Department has announced 2,000 PTI vacancies for the Primary Cadre. The posts are distributed among different categories, including General, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class, ex-servicemen, sports, persons with disabilities, freedom fighters and EWS categories.

Out of the total vacancies, 650 posts are reserved for women.

Punjab PTI Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Candidates applying for the PTI posts must fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria. The major requirements include:

• Passed Class 12 or equivalent.
• Possess a two-year Diploma or Certificate in Physical Education, such as D.P.Ed. or C.P.Ed., or an equivalent qualification.
• Age should be between 18 and 37 years as on January 1, 2026.
• Must have studied Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject in Matriculation or have an equivalent Punjabi-language qualification.
• Candidates must qualify the prescribed Punjabi language test.
• Candidates must also meet the physical eligibility requirements.

Punjab PTI Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted through the recruitment process prescribed by the Education Recruitment Directorate. The selection process includes a written examination, sports weightage, Physical Eligibility Test (PET) and document verification, as applicable.

The PET includes physical activities such as a 30-metre flying start, standing broad jump, shuttle run, bend and reach, and 1,600-metre running. Candidates must qualify the prescribed physical requirements.
