Over 1,100 candidates challenged the provisional answer key of the Teachers Eligibility Test-1 conducted by the Gujarat State Examination Board. The objections were raised after the provisional answer key was released following the December 2025 examination. Candidates were allowed to submit objections till December 31, 2025, as per the official schedule.
The Gujarat State Examination Board confirmed that objections were received within the stipulated timeline. The exam authority stated that the concerns raised by candidates are now under review.
Gujarat TET-1 Answer Key 2025 Objections Under Review
According to GSEB officials, nearly 1,100 candidates submitted objections against answers related to around 20 questions in the provisional answer key. Candidates cited differences in interpretation and subject understanding while challenging the answers.
The exam authority clarified that an expert committee has been constituted to examine the objections. The panel will evaluate each challenge and verify the accuracy of the answers provided in the provisional key. Based on the committee’s findings, the board will decide whether any corrections are required.
Officials also stated that if discrepancies are found, the board may consider awarding grace marks to affected candidates. A final decision on this matter will be taken after the expert review process is completed.
TET-1 Exam 2025 Participation and Exam Pattern
The TET-1 examination was conducted in December 2025 across 511 examination centres located in five cities of Gujarat. The two-hour-long exam was attended by 91,627 candidates.
A total of 101,518 candidates had registered for the Teachers Eligibility Test-1. Out of these, 90.26% of registered candidates appeared for the examination, reflecting a high participation rate.
Each question in the exam carried one mark, and there was no negative marking. Several candidates reported that the Mathematics section was comparatively difficult, which led to multiple objections related to that subject.
Eligibility Purpose of Gujarat TET-1 Exam
The Teachers Eligibility Test-1 is mandatory for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5 in government and aided schools across Gujarat. Clearing the TET-1 exam is an essential eligibility requirement for primary teaching posts in the state.
The final answer key, along with the result, will be prepared after incorporating the decisions taken by the expert panel. The board is expected to announce further updates after completing the objection review process.
National Means cum Merit Scholarship Exam Update
Separately, the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme examination is scheduled to be held on Saturday in Gujarat. The scholarship exam witnessed registrations from 2,18,305 Class 8 students this year.
The scholarship examination is conducted annually to identify meritorious students from economically weaker sections and support their continued education.
